You recently wrote me to tell me that you have found and completed these repairs to correct problems that I detailed to your service advisor in May of 1999. It’s over 9 months, since I last was able to drive the E-350 van that I bought with a 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty from you. Since I requested warranty service from you in May of 1999, I have exchanged phone calls, and written (and received) increasingly nasty letters, in an attempt to get you to provide this service. At every turn, you have refused to provide this service, maintaining that the van was in excellent shape and no further service was necessary. It’s been over a month since I last wrote you, requesting service for exactly the problems that you say you just found and fixed. What changed your mind? So, what changed your mind? Why if your previous service was thorough and competent, as you have previously stated, are you now saying that you ‘repaired’ non-exsistent problems? Isn’t that a fraud against Ford Motor, if you claim compensation? It’s certainly a fraud against me. Were you lying in the past or are you lying now? If your service was previously competent, as you maintain, why did you just find this problem? If your service was previously incompetent, in ways that I have indicated, why is it now competent? Are there other problems? How would you know? Why did it take a month after my last letter for you to ‘discover’ that there were problems with the van? If you had found and fixed these problems previously, why didn’t you tell me? If you didn’t find those problems previously, why not? If I were to rent a car at Economy rental cars this time frame would have cost me some $8771.86 plus insurance, taxes, etc. I currently owe some 9+ months of car payments ($3525.00 in past due car payments)- that I have no intention of making (under current circumstances)- because your firm sold me a vehicle with promise of warranty and then DENIED me warranty service. If you, Ford Credit, or Ford Motor can come up with any other explanation of this situation, please, enlighten me. Your request to meet with me was particularly insidious- especially since I revealed my reasons for avoiding personal confrontation. I suppose you turn cripples out of their wheelchairs to make them accept faulty repairs. ‘Here, try walking’ you say, ‘Now sign and accept this incompetent repair or I’ll make sure the wheels come off your van.’ Show this letter, with our previous correspondence to your firm’s attorney. Have him contact me. Again, as before, I have no desire to have any personal association with you or your ilk, and my store of invective is not sufficent to adequately describe you, your firm, or to give you my wishes for your future in the new Century. So let me just say this: You (personally) have always, at every turn, on every day, at every hour of the past 214 days, had the opportunity and choice to “end this situation”. All you had to do was say to your staff, ‘Take a look at that van, make sure there are no other problems with it.’ By my count, you have had over 5,136 opportunities to “end this situation” Please be sure to remind your attorney.
